Join thousands of volunteers across the Potomac River watershed helping to restore streamside forests.

Registration for the 2013 Growing Native Season Is Closed

If you are interested in collecting seeds, please visit the Drop-off & Collection Sites page to find locations where bags and tags are available for pick-up and drop-off, or to find a public collection near you. For questions, contact Lien Vu at vu@growingnative.org.

How Registration Works

Each fall, Growing Native welcomes individuals, families, and community groups to register for seed collection. Registration helps us coordinate collection efforts across the watershed and ensures state nurseries receive the right species in the right quantities.

Individual & Family Collection

Register to collect seeds from your backyard or approved community locations. You'll provide details about your collection site, planned collection date, and the estimated number of volunteers participating.

Group Collection

Schools, religious groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, day care programs, senior citizen groups, and community organizations can all register as group collectors. A site organizer must provide contact information and coordinate the effort.

What You'll Need to Provide

  • Collection site location and planned date
  • Estimated number of volunteers
  • Site organizer name and contact information
  • Group type (if registering on behalf of an organization)
